DESCHAMPS & CORONA : accessing paradise
Deschamps is excited to announce the partnership between Mobi-mat® and Corona. This collaboration aims to turn Canadian beaches into accessible paradises, making them more inclusive and enjoyable for everyone.

Thanks to Wade Watts, accessibility advocate and Mobi-mat’s Canadian Representative, Mobi-mat teams with Corona’s Accessing Paradise Pledge to make beach sunsets more accessible for those with mobility challenges. This cooperation will see Mobi-mat® mobility mats installed at various beaches, making them accessible to everyone.
The first two beaches already transformed are Wellington Beach in Prince Edward County, Ontario, and Saint-Zotique in Vaudreuil-Soulanges, Quebec.
Corona is inviting Canadians to nominate four additional beaches to be included in this transformative pledge. This initiative aims to enhance the accessibility and enjoyment of Canada's beautiful coastlines.
How did the collaboration emerge?
According to Statistics, Canada has the longest coastline in the world. Through his extensive fieldwork, Wade Watts estimates that there are more than 2,500 public beaches across Canada, with less than 15 percent easily accessible to the public. Recognizing this significant gap, Corona's Accessing Paradise Pledge aims to improve access to these stunning natural treasures. By involving the community in nominating beaches, Corona hopes to make a meaningful impact on the accessibility and enjoyment of Canada's coastal treasures.
Together, DESCHAMPS & Wade Watts have pushed for real changes by installing Mobi-mat®, beach access rollout walkways. We have shown how Mobi-mat® helps people regardless of ability or age access beaches and other outdoor spaces.
Which products can be found at Accessible Paradise Beaches?
- Mobi-mat® : the mats provide a stable surface over sand, helping people with wheelchairs, walkers, or other mobility aids move easily on the beach and get closer to the water.
- Mobi-chair™ : the floating beach wheelchairs let individuals who use wheelchairs safely enjoy the water.
- Mobi-deck™: the panels offer a very firm surface for pedestrian paths, parking areas, or staging areas..
